Scooter
Since gas is now priced around $4 per gallon and we have a 20 mpg minivan, we have decided to get a scooter to try and save money on gas. The most we ever use the van is for Shaun to drive to work and back and since he doesn't need car seats to do that, we thought this would be a good option. Luckily, my friend works for a dealer that sells scooters and she got us a great deal on an already inexpensive, cute scooter. Ours looks just like the one in the picture except it's blue. They didn't have any blue ones on the internet and we don't get ours until next week, so you'll just have to imagine what it looks like blue (and so will we until we get it). Blue wasn't actually our first choice, but they are selling them so quickly that it was the only color we could get if we wanted it next week. We have been told that this scooter will get around 80 mpg so we expect to save quite a bit of gas money. Although I did (and still do) have issues with the safety of a scooter, I think the money saved might be worth it. And it will be nice to fill up the tank with $6 instead of $95!

You will have a blast! Scooters are so much fun. They do not go too fast, so they are not as dangerous as motorcycles. (At least that is what I have been telling myself for the past year or so!)
Sounds fun, but all I can think about it
"Just when I thought you couldn't be any stupider, you do something like this...and totally redeem yourself!"
(which makes me laugh further about the first time you watching that movie with us)
scooter,
I was just reminiscing with Kimberlie about that when she was here last month. Funny!
I've been thinking about getting a scooter too. You see a lot of them around here, but summertime could be rather toasty. I'll have to try yours out when we come up later this month.
Josh has been trying to talk me into buying a "small" motorcycle for him to take to work too. Although it doesn't cost us quite as much as you to fill up our car, he's convinced that he needs to join the ranks of motorcyclers and scooter-ers everywhere. I, on the other hand, am terrified at the thought of him riding a motorcycle on the freeway for 25 minutes each way to work. Argh those gas prices!
I'm a no on motorcycles too! I've seen too many injuries and 2 deaths. People don't look for motorcycles. Please be careful and don't try to ride in the middle lane of traffic going 35 miles an hour. People just get mad and do stupid things! And don't forget a good helmet!
