Twilight
My sister-in-law talked me into reading 'Twilight'. Everyone and their dog has told me (directly or indirectly) that it was good, but I was never interested. Then, Monday, my sister-in-law actually put the book in my hands. Even still, I was skeptical and overwhelmed by it's immense size. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a big reader. In fact, I'm not even a little reader. I haven't read a novel since high school, and I only did it then because it was required. Now that I think about it, I think I only actually finished reading one or two in all of high school. Neither of them were 500 pages, though. I started reading on Wednesday and was interested enough to read again on Thursday. I fell asleep reading on Thursday, but still read yesterday. I think I'm hooked now. I can't put it down until I finish the chapter I'm on, and I am getting intrigued by the story. I am still only on page 110 (I think that may be the most I've ever read in 4 days, and today's not over yet!), so I wonder if I'll really finish it still. Maybe my goal for this year will just be to finish this series (as opposed to 52 books in 52 weeks). I don't know. I am enjoying it, but I can't really say that it's a great book yet since I have nothing to compare it to. I will keep you posted. If I'm like anyone else who has read these books I may post tomorrow that I am finished.

Yipeee! Go Jenn!! (I'm assuming this is the sister-in-law---or maybe Christine, she likes to read too.) I am so glad you are reading that book. I really enjoyed it, and I am not sure why. Keep reading, it's worth it. I'm starting the second one in the series tonight.
It was actually Christine, so go Christine!!
Yes, go Christine! She's awesome. I hope she can get you to read something else too. Does she have "The Goose Girl"? You should read that next.
Let's not go overboard, I am still a beginner!
I have been told I should read that series also, but I haven't done so. Kimberlie, I have put "The Goose Girl" on hold at the library.
I didn't read all that much in high school and couldn't even conceived of the concept of leisure reading for most of my college years--
Now I walk across campus reading a book--sometimes even holding an umbrella at the same time just to protect the book. It's a good thing (and I haven't walked in front of any bikes or cars, yet).
Keep going.
All of the girls in our family have read this book and loved it! It's one of those you just can't put down. In fact when someone told me about it , I said "A vampire book? No way! Not interested. But when I started, I couldn't wait to finish. I haven't read the third in the series yet, although I think a few of the family own it.
Okay, am I the only one that thinks it's nerdy to walk while reading? It's a good thing I REALLY love that guy!
mommyofthree,
Actually, I was just on the phone with Scrap Chair Potato while she was reading his comment and she said something like, "seriously, Scott is such a dork." (I also think it's pretty nerdy) But we love him, too.
I don't necessarily think it is nerdy, I just am not coordinated enough to try it. I have been know to fall just walking - or just ice skating!
